About Us

Ambassador’s Grove Housing Ministry was founded by Monique Shurn, a nonprofit leader, community advocate, and servant-hearted ministry founder with a deep passion for helping individuals rebuild their lives through stability, dignity, and faith-centered support.

Monique created Ambassador’s Grove in response to the growing need for safe, structured housing for adults who are seeking independence and long-term stability. Her vision is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves access to a peaceful environment where they can heal, grow, and thrive, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually.

With over 19 years of experience in the medical field, Monique brings a unique blend of compassion, structure, and professionalism to her work. Her background has shaped a trauma-informed, people-centered approach that emphasizes accountability, personal responsibility, and holistic support.

In addition to her professional work, Monique is a devoted wife, mother of four, and proud grandmother of five. Her role as a caregiver both at home and in the community deeply informs the heart of Ambassador’s Grove, which is designed to feel less like a program and more like a true home.

Monique leads Ambassador’s Grove with a commitment to service, integrity, and faith. She oversees program development, operations, and community partnerships, ensuring the organization operates with strong governance, ethical standards, and a mission-driven focus on long-term transformation.

At the heart of her leadership is a calling to serve with excellence, creating not just housing, but belonging, purpose, and opportunity for individuals to step into stability and their God-given potential.

At Ambassador’s Grove, we encourage every resident to identify clear personal, spiritual, and practical goals so their time with us is intentional, focused, and transformational. We believe in connection over coldness, compassion over procedure, and relationship over rigid systems. While we maintain strong structure, accountability, and professional standards, we lead with heart, humanity, and genuine care for every individual we serve.

We prioritize authentic relationships, open communication, and a welcoming environment where residents feel supported, valued, and empowered. We believe people grow best when they feel seen, heard, and respected, not processed, labeled, or kept at a distance. We also value structured, intentional communication. Our programs and expectations are clearly organized so residents understand their responsibilities, next steps, and opportunities for growth, without unnecessary complexity or confusion.
